From the Support Desk: How do I…?

It’s 2024 and we’ve seen nearly a decade of support tickets to know the trends of your challenges at enterprise content production studios. Want to know what the industry pros are asking the support line these days? Joe Kimani, Client Support Manager, dishes the top 5 topics that we have received through the Support Desk.

1. How do I change how captures are organized on-set? ShotFlow enables control over local folder naming, capture file name tokening, and the fields that are tagged in XMP metadata. Foldering rules can even vary by Shot List! All of this is point-click configurable with appropriate permissions.

2. How do I change what metadata fields are tagged in assets? Since we mentioned metadata in the last point, changes to the actual XMP schema being tagged in your assets can be point-click changed in ShotFlow (but be careful – your downstream systems are usually configured to look for specific metadata tags). Want to check your current metadata Schema? Install our custom panels in Adobe Bridge CC and Photoshop CC on your Mac by accessing the ShotFlow Capture “Admin” menu and selecting “Create Adobe XMP Panels.” Reach out if you need assistance with this.

3. How do I get a new button to batch update my work? Admin users can create and configure “Actions” to update one or many records. Examples include: Deleting records, Creating labels, Updating relationships (e.g., assigning shots to a shot list or samples to a shipment), Updating records with new information (e.g., status and location). If you need more information, please reach out to us!

4. How do I eliminate manual steps from my workflow? Identify repetitive manual tasks in your pre-pro, on-set, or post workflows that have consistent parameters and conditions. ShotFlow Automations can be point-click configured to trigger based on records being created or updated, with sophisticated filtering to target exactly the right scenario to drive the automated behavior. The Automated action is also highly configurable to achieve the exact behavior desired. Automations can be combined with “Actions” (from point 3, above) to trigger updates in other fields or items automatically. Ask our Support Team about how we can automate some frustrating repetitive tasks for your team!

5. Super User Guru Tip: Change Environments in ShotFlow Capture – For super gurus that need to do capture testing in non-production environments, you can perform our five finger death punch combination, as we call it internally [Shift + Ctrl + Option + Command + D] to point ShotFlow Capture at a different environment the next time it launches.

Pros to Meet:

Hey Y’all, it’s Kelly Garthwaite!
Hey Y’all! is a consulting company offering a one-stop shop approach to operational and creative photo management for brands. This team will take the journey with you from inception to final execution and set your internal teams up for success in achieving stellar content. Kelly Garthwaite launched Hey Y’all! in August. While leading the Photo Operations team at Red Bull Media House, she identified how much better the photography process is when it functions efficiently within a brand; when internal cross-functional teams and freelancers learn to speak photography in the same language, the business becomes more successful.

Spoiler: An AI wrote this profile. (Don’t worry – a human was in the loop.)
The human? Matt Fischer, founder of LoopedHuman.ai, purveyor of fine AI-enhanced workflow automations since… well, since GPT 3.5. (But marketing workflow optimization and automation for much longer than that.)Here’s how this one works:
– ChatGPT: Analyzed ShotFlow’s content, generated audience profile.
– Claude.ai: Drafted content using audience profile and Matt’s info.
– The “looped human?” Guided Claude, edited final version.

That’s how LoopedHuman serves clients, too. Example: A recent project for a $50 million line of business replaced traditional B2B prospecting with automated AIQLs (AI-Qualified Leads), delivering AI-tailored prospect profiles and playbooks to the sales team. Result? A 400% prospecting productivity improvement.

Now, imagine:
– Generating thousands of SEO-optimized, brand-consistent product descriptions that adapt to market trends.
– Implementing an AI-driven content strategy that creates, tests, and refines marketing copy across channels.
– Developing a smart inventory system using predictive analytics for demand forecasting and pricing optimization.

Curious about the prompts behind this profile? Wonder how generative AI could revolutionize your operations? Drop Matt a line at LoopedHuman.ai.
